Ian Dowie

Ian Dowie started his career playing for non league club, Hendon. He was soon head hunted by Luton Town who bought the player in 1989. He spent just under two years playing for Luton prior his move to West Ham during the 1990-91 season. He became an instant success at the club, his goals helping the Hammers to promotion to the first division in the 1990-91 season. After a long spell playing for the Hammers he soon moved on to play for Southampton, making over 100 appearances and followed that up  by a short spell playing for Crystal palace. He then moved back to his beloved West Ham for another spell before ending his playing career with QPR, as player manager. He is now the manager of Charlton Athletic, after few seasons managing Crystal Palace.

John Hartson

Hartson was one of West Hams finest ever forwards. He played a vital role in the four clubs that he played in and during the 1997-98 season he was thought of as one of the most talented players in the top flight. He netted in a total of 16 goals for West Ham during the 97-98 campaign which resulted in him being one of the top goal scorers in the premiership. His goals also helped the Hammers finish eighth in the Premier League.

 

Paolo Di Canio

Between the years, 1997 and1999, Di Canio played some breath taking football for Sheffield Wednesday, his love for football shined through the premiership. However he was sold in January 1999 to West Ham, which proved to be an important signing for the Hammers. He scored one of the premierships best ever goals during the 1999/2000 season against Wimbledon and was one of the top goal scorers in the premiership with 16 goals. He was voted West Ham star of the year by the supporters and helped West ham reach an impressive fifth position in the premiership, which in turn earned them a place in the UEFA Cup. He starred for Charlton during the 2003-04 season. 

Eyal Berkovic

Berkovic commenced his career at Maccabi Haifa in 1989; he ended up spending seven seasons at the club before moving to Southampton. In total he made 28 appearances for the English club and then transferred to West Ham for £1.75 million, in total he appeared for the Hammers in 65 matches scoring 10 goals. He then went on to spend two seasons at Scottish club, Celtic, where he scored a number of crucial goals for the major Scottish outfit. After leaving Celtic he went on to play for his third English club, Blackburn, where he only made a handful of appearances. Berkovic moved to Manchester playing for Manchester City just before the 2001-02 season. He soon became a favorite with the supporters and went on to play 56 times for City. He moved to Portsmouth for the start of the 2004-05 season, appearing 25 times for the club. He moved back to Israel for the start of the 2005-06 season, where he became a regular in the squad before announcing his retirement from playing professional football.
He is one of Israel’s most capped ever players, making 82 appearances for his country and scoring 14 goals.
