Glenn Roeder
Roeder is no stranger to success and is well known for his brilliant motivational talks. He commenced his managerial career with Gillingham and later moved on to manage Watford, and nearly took the club to the play offs in 1995. In 1996, he left Watford and embarked on a five year coaching career with England and West Ham. Roeder took charge of West ham in January 2001 and helped the club to an emphatic seventh position during his first spell at the club. The 2002-2003 season was unfortunate for the Hammers, many members of their squad suffered from injury and it proved costly as West Ham was relegated. Roeder left the West ham managerial post in August 2003.

Alan Pardew
After a four year spell managing Reading, Pardew was selected as West ham manager early in the 2003-04 season. His first season in charge at the club started slowly as they struggled for form; however he took them to the play off final of 2004, losing against Crystal Palace. West Ham were consistent during the 2004-05 season, however they were hovering around the play off places for most the season. The Hammers qualified for the play offs and met Preston in the final, a Bobby Zamora winning goal clinched a birth in the Premiership for Pardew and West ham.
Pardew became a hero at Upton Park after the 2005-06 season, he helped West Ham reach the final of the FA Cup and to a credible ninth position in the Premier league.
